Uncle Jeff, the start of a social media documentary

We are all trying to figure out the pro's, con's and general unknowns of social media. Twitter, Vimeo, Facebook and so on... how do we make the most of these platforms without wasting our time? One group of people has been getting to grips with it for longer than most, and as i have talked about before muscicians seem to be delving right into the thick of it.

I have been in contact with a number of unsigned bands trying to understand how it is they use MySpace and the like, as well as whether it actually works for them. Stephen Hudson is behind the Indie/Folk Rock/Pop group 'Uncle Jeff' who i met with early this month at a gig they were playing at 'The Good Ship' Kilburn. The band have had varied success with different forms of social media marketing including a hit on Youtube called 'Moon Landing' which can be seen here.

The images here are a taste of what i hope to grow into a photo documentary on the tools Musicians are having to get to grips with just like the rest of us, to stay ahead of the game. Future images will be posted here along with the 'vital statistics' such as *MySpace friends *Twitter followers *Airplay and *Revenue.

As always comments are welcomed, and a big thank you to Uncle Jeff who can be found here for their time.
